Gear Aid SeamGrip + SIL Silicone Tent Sealant - 1.5oz

Silnylon shelters are among the lightest and most packable options available for backcountry camping, but they come with one firm requirement: only a silicone-based sealant will actually bond to silicone-treated fabric. Gear Aid SeamGrip SIL is built specifically for that job, delivering a durable, weatherproof seal on silnylon tents, ultralight tarps, and silicone-treated backpacks.

Previously sold as SilNet, this clear silicone rubber sealant cures to a flexible, elastic finish that moves with the fabric rather than cracking or peeling under stress. A single 1.5 oz tube covers up to 24 feet of seams, which is enough to treat a full tent in one application. It also works well for pinhole repairs and small tears, making it a practical addition to any ultralight repair kit heading into the Canadian backcountry.

Application is straightforward. Run it along the seam, let humidity do the curing work over three to six hours, and you have a seal that holds through heat, cold, and sustained rain. The wide use temperature range handles everything from a summer trip in northern Ontario to a shoulder-season outing when temperatures drop overnight. Made in the USA.
