About Insurer
Age Limits:
- Pets need to be at least 8 weeks old to enroll.
- There is no upper age limit for pets.
- Senior pet plans available.
Plan Coverage:
- There is a 20% co-pay after your annual deductible.
- Pay-out amount is based on your vet bill.
Annual and Incident Payout Limits:
- Per incident limit of $1,500 – $8,000. Annual limits of $3,000 – $16,000. All based on your chosen plan.
Annual Deductible:
- $100-$1,000.
Waiting Period:
- Plan coverage goes into effect one day after enrollment.
- There is a 5-day wait period for accident claims, and a 14-day wait period for illness claims.
- AKC Pet Insurance provides 30 days of accident & illness insurance coverage included with AKC registration for newly registered puppies.
Exclusions:
- Pre-existing conditions are not covered.
- There are custom plans that allow you to add-on coverage for inherited and congenital conditions, wellness care and exam fees.
- Cancer coverage is included in base illness and accident plan.
